Looking for an excuse to get out of the car and explore Southern California? Metrolink is offering free rides on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in celebration of California Clean Air Day.
That means you can hop aboard a Metrolink or Arrow train and travel throughout the region without purchasing a ticket — making it a particularly easy way to plan a spontaneous day trip from L.A.
Whether you’re craving a beach day, a historic downtown stroll, museums, or just a change of scenery, there are plenty of destinations accessible by train.
Metrolink connects communities throughout six Southern California counties, so there are plenty of options for a car-free adventure.
Just remember to check the Metrolink schedule before you go, as weekday departure times vary depending on the route.
