Join us in the TPF gardens this fall with Los Angeles consulting arborist Alison Lancaster for our Oak-tober Series! She’ll guide us through evaluations of some of the oak trees on the grounds and help us better understand how to care for them, from drought-conscious watering and pruning to common structural issues and diseases.
We’ll also explore the oak tree life cycle, including fire adaptation, growth patterns, and habitat value, as well as the native insects that call oaks home and the invasive pests that can cause harm.
This will be a walk-and-talk presentation with time for discussion, so feel free to bring photos and questions about your own oaks at home. Come spend an afternoon learning more about these beautiful and important California keystone species!
