Approved by LA County voters in 2018, Measure W created the County of Los Angeles Safe Clean Water Program, which provides dedicated local funding to reduce LA’s reliance on imported water, protect water quality, develop new water supplies, improve flood control, and protect local rivers, creeks, lakes and bays.
LA Sanitation and Environment serves as the lead administrator of the Program within the City of LA, with the involvement of several other Public Works bureaus and City departments. To date, the City of Los Angeles has completed seven Safe Clean Water projects, including two community projects — Haynes Street Greenway Project and the East 6th Street Project — and five low-flow diversions along the LA River and Arroyo Seco.
Navigating Los Angeles public transit is now simpler with the new LA Metro mobile app. Consolidating multiple digital tools into a single platform, the app eliminates the need for third-party services.
Customers can now access real-time transit data, plan regional trips, track service alerts, and locate Metro Bike Share or Metro Micro zones all in one place.
Debuting alongside new contactless payment options, this digital upgrade marks a major step forward in modernizing the rider experience.
The City of Los Angeles is conducting a survey of youth to better understand what youth in the City need, the challenges they face, and how the City can support them.
This survey is open to young people who live in Los Angeles, with a focus on youth ages 14 to 25. Personal information will not be collected, and survey data will only be reported in aggregate.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device. Youth voices are important, and these responses will help the City better understand the experiences of young Angelenos.

WILDFIRE-RELATED BILLS
Moving through the State Legislature
While wildfire preparedness often starts right at home, some of the most impactful changes are happening in Sacramento. During this legislative session, two wildfire-related bills are drawing significant attention for their potential to boost community resilience, support local efforts, and expand wildfire mitigation resources throughout California.
